Description
Welcome to the Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering course.
This course has been designed to provide learners with the essential food hygiene knowledge required for anyone who prepares, handles, cooks or serves food within a catering environment. It is one of the most widely recognised food safety qualifications in the UK and is often a requirement for individuals working in restaurants, cafés, takeaways, pubs, schools, care settings, hotels and other food service establishments.
Food businesses have a legal responsibility to ensure that food is prepared, handled and served safely. Failure to follow good food hygiene practices can result in food contamination, food poisoning outbreaks, reputational damage, legal action and financial penalties. This course helps learners understand how foodborne illnesses occur and how effective food safety controls can prevent them.
The qualification provides practical knowledge on food safety legislation, contamination hazards, temperature control, personal hygiene, cleaning procedures and safe food handling practices. Learners will gain the confidence to work safely and responsibly within catering environments while supporting their employer’s food safety management systems.
Whether you are new to the catering industry or looking to refresh your knowledge, this course provides a solid foundation in food hygiene and food safety.
